Fargo 84815 Color Ribbon Details

Genuine Fargo 84815 YMCKI color ribbons are used to print single-sided, full-color cards with black resin text or barcodes, over the entire card, with an inhibitor (I) panel.

The inhibitor panel allows cards with front-of-card surface foils or back-of-card signature panels to be printed on by preventing the retransfer film from adhering to those areas. The inhibitor panel is mainly used for printing cards with a signature panel or magnetic stripe.

On the front side of the card:

• Y - yellow panel
• M - magenta panel
• C - cyan panel
• K - black resin panel
• I - inhibitor panel (front or back of card)

Fargo card printers require specialized Fargo ribbons to function properly. To maximize printed card quality and printer durability, use only genuine Fargo 84815 YMCKI ribbons.

Dye-sublimation ribbons typically have a shelf life of up to one year, when stored under the proper conditions. Ribbons that are not properly stored, and are more than one year old, will not print optimally and will likely end up costing more in maintenance and more money in reprinting cards.

How to find the shelf life of your color ribbon?

Look for the manufactured date on the sticker on the box, which is above the part number. If this date is over one year in the past, then your ribbon is past its shelf life.
